Webb11 juni 2024 · SUSAN ROTHENBERG was a visionary artist. We met around 1969 in New York and became friends. I asked her to work with me. Working together brings closeness. Susan made a beautiful contribution to one of my catalogues in 1994. Reading it now reminds me of the wonderful times we shared. WebbSusan Rothenberg, who swam against the 1970s trend for abstaction with her understated figuration, has died. The painter first attracted attention in 1975 with her debut solo exhibition at the nonprofit gallery 112 Greene Street, in which she showed just three canvases, each depicting a horse.
